Students Yogic Flying

Students practicing Yogic Flying. Educating the whole student by developing total brain functioning.

Yogic Flying for Total Brain Functioning

Yogic Flying is part of Consciousness-based Education because scientific research has demonstrated extensively that it activates the entire brain physiology. This is great news for us in education. We now have a scientifically proven technique that activates all the areas of the brain simultaneously, versus stimulating different functions of the brain separately, or in some cases not at all.

Better learning and Improved Academic Achievements
Research has revealed that coherent brain functioning is associated with increased learning ability, improved academic achievement, emotional stability, in fact everything good about the brain depends on its coherent, integrated functioning.

For increased brain coherence every part of the brain must be coordinated with every other part. Yogic Flying, an advanced program of the Transcendental Meditation technique, has proved to be most powerful in producing maximum brain coherence, and this new style of functioning of the brain persists after the practice during the different areas of activity in the student's life.

Coherence during Yogic Flying is far more reaching than that observed during the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique
During Yogic Flying the student's body lifts up as soon as his or her mind-body coordination reaches peak level. It is important to note that this occurs spontaneously as a result of proper instruction, and effortless practice.

Director, Brain Research Institute

Dr. Arenander, an expert in the neurobiology of brain development and mind-body health, has conducted pioneering research at the University of California at Los Angeles, Penn State University at Hershey, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and Maharishi University of Management. He emphasizes the importance of dissolving the stress that inhibits brain functioning and using the Transcendental Meditation technique to enhance the functioning of the prefrontal cortex, responsible for reasoning and moral development. Fulfilling the goal of Education

Schools are entrusted with the responsibility to develop the most important natural resource of our country—the intelligence and creativity of our youth. The Consciousness-based Education program enables any school to fulfill this responsibility by systematically developing the latent creativity and intelligence of students, so that irrespective of their educational or socioeconomic background they can experience increasing success and fulfillment every day.

Traditionally, education has attended primarily to what students study—the objective aspect of knowledge—without systematically developing the subjective basis of knowledge, the student’s consciousness. Yet it is the quality of the students’ consciousness, or awareness, that determines their degree of intelligence, creativity, confidence, inner calm, and motivation—all fundamental to education. Scientific research verifies that these qualities are directly developed through the Consciousness-based Education program, which enlivens holistic brain functioning through the experience of the full potential of one’s consciousness.

During the Transcendental Meditation Programme, early (sensory) components of the brain’s response to somatosensory stimuli are more widely distributed across the cortex, indicating greater participation of the whole brain in response to stimuli.

Consciousness-based Education makes use of the natural and effortless Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying program for developing students’ full inner potential.

By developing increasing use of the total brain, the Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying program strengthens the cognitive, physiological, and affective foundations of learning, while promoting more healthy life-style choices and positive behavior.

During Yogic Flying, while the student sits in the cross-legged position, the body lifts up and moves forward in short jumps. This first stage is described as "hopping." The subjective experience is described not just as inner peace, but as exhilaration, lightness, an intense happiness and expansive freedom, often described as "bubbling bliss."

At the same time, regular practice of this technique significantly reduces the stress and tension that many students and teachers experience daily, and creates a happy, harmonious, focused learning environment.

Research suggests that group practice of Yogic Flying is the single most effective program for generating a society-wide influence of peace. The increase in brain wave coherence in the individual is reflected by increased coherence in social behavior—as measured by reduced crime, terrorism and war.

Only a small group of students can achieve this in every country. The results are easily reproducible and have been extensively validated through rigorous, peer-reviewed scientific research.

More than 600 scientific research studies conducted at over 200 universities and research institutes in 30 countries verify the wide-ranging benefits of this technique for individual life and society.

The Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying program is not a religion or religious practice, and involves no change in lifestyle or belief. It is practiced by more than five million people around the world, of all cultures and economic backgrounds.

Consciousness-based Education is for complete education Complete education is education which provides academic excellence while developing the total potential of the student, our children, so he can live the fruit of all knowledge, a disease-free, problem-free, harmonious life. This is why parents put their children to school, and this is what Consciousness-based Education delivers to students of any background, culture or religion.

Message

“Today, every nation is vulnerable. Even the mightiest nations are held hostage by small terrorist groups. Conventional military approaches are increasingly powerless to protect a nation against terrorist attack, against new destructive technologies, or against missiles with pinpoint accuracy.

“Diplomatic efforts seem equally powerless. In a world divided by deep-seated hostilities and regional tensions, negotiated settlements and ceasefires have brought temporary relief, at best. Paper treaties and discussions among representatives of warring nations are too fragile a basis for lasting peace.

“How, then, can we achieve lasting peace and protect the security, stability, and well-being of every nation?

“According to recent research, traditional approaches to national security fail because they do not address the underlying cause of violence and conflict: they do not relieve the acute political, ethnic, and religious tensions that fuel terrorism and conflict. We need an effective means to eliminate these deep-seated tensions — a proven approach that can safeguard a nation against violence and promote peace and prosperity in the world.

“During the last 25 years, a powerful, innovative approach to peace has been extensively field tested throughout the world. The consistent result has been dramatic reductions in terrorism, war, and other social violence. These findings have been replicated, published in leading academic journals, and endorsed by independent scientists and scholars. The efficacy of this approach is now beyond question.

“These studies verify that the scientific knowledge and technologies are now available to end terrorism and conflict, to achieve indomitable national strength and security, and to create permanent world peace. Schools, by implementing these technologies as an extracurricular activity for their students, can secure the peace and safety of their nation. But the time to act is now.”

Hundreds of scientific research studies document the outstanding effectiveness of the Transcendental Meditation technique and Yogic Flying in developing the full potential of students. Consciousness-based Education, which takes full advantage of these programs, can be implemented in any school system without changing the curriculum. The time to ring the bell of eureka for education and national invincibility is now, through the immediate adoption of Consciousness-based Education in your school or education system.
